Richard Young the Magician!

Dad, what a great Dad you are! I don't know anyone who is more charitable and selfless than you are. I feel so lucky that I am always able to trust you and know that if I ever need anything you're there with a listening ear and/or a solution, or if needed a new perspective. (Which I needed more often than not.) Anyone who knows you says you are the coolest, most down to earth guy. I'm so lucky to be you daughter and I'm grateful for the perspectives and standards I learned from you! You've been my knight is shinning armour since that fourth birthday, where you found the slipper that fit and danced with me around the living room.

I love you Dad!
 Happy Fathers Day

How Duplicitous

So I realise that my last post was a bit of a trick. Just looking at how excited Rosee is in that picture makes me feel like I tricked everyone into thinking something was very exciting.
But you know what, life is exciting. Today I was looking up words on my desktop dictionary because sometimes I just don't know what "machination" means, you know? Anyway, I was looking up some words and I decided I should do something more productive, but I didn't want to leave Mike with the word "machination" for the next time he looked up a word, so I typed in happiness. It's making me smile. Maybe that's all that counts.

Well, here's a little something, something to brighten your day.

Guess What?

We were in Calgary for 36 hours!

We arrived and met up with my cousin and her boyfriend and went to the driving range. So fun!
The next day was a sad one as we attended her grandmothers funeral but it was a lovely service and she will be missed. After that I got to attend an event and paint 11 little girls as monster dolls. They turned out great. We then went to Mike's parents for supper and went on our sweet way home.
It was short but so lovely to see everyone and finally got to hang out with my cousin Erin. We'll have to do it again!

In the Arizona Sun

During the week between winter semester and spring semester
Mike and I decided to spend it in sunny AZ instead of windy AB.
Plus we would get to see Joel, Bre, Annie, Kyle, and all their kids!
It was such a blast with them, and the 30+ weather wasn't so bad either.

These kids love their uncle Mike!

Bre helped me with my first out of the box hair dying experience. It turned our great and I loved being a redhead while the dye lasted. (Funny story, half way through the process we ran out of dye and so, being the great husband he is, Mike hopped on a bike and rode as fast as he could in the plus 40 weather and got a new box of dye in a shocking 10 minutes!)

The Proud Family! Congrats Joel!

Thanks so much for having us! We can't wait for you guys to come up this summer!
