Guess What?

We were in Calgary for 36 hours!

We arrived and met up with my cousin and her boyfriend and went to the driving range. So fun!
The next day was a sad one as we attended her grandmothers funeral but it was a lovely service and she will be missed. After that I got to attend an event and paint 11 little girls as monster dolls. They turned out great. We then went to Mike's parents for supper and went on our sweet way home.
It was short but so lovely to see everyone and finally got to hang out with my cousin Erin. We'll have to do it again!

Best Little Birthday Ever

Well this was just the best birthday I've ever did have! Before work and school, Mike and I woke up at the crack of dawn and hit up Denny's free breakfast. I then dropped Mike off at school and went back to bed for a quick nap. After my nap I went to work and during work we all decided to go to Ihop for what I thought would be another free meal. Turns out they just give you free ice cream, but hey, that's a-ok with me! After work Mike picked me up and we headed over to Henderson for a lovely lake-side picnic. Oh and did I mention that it was 25 degrees celsius outside?
Yes, please mother nature!

And Mike gave me the cutest one peice for my bday!

PANCAKES

A new IHOP opened up in our little town of Lethbridge several days ago.
Needless to say, I was quite excited for a little pancake date.
BUT. Mike thinks it's a waste of money to pay for some of the cheapest foods to make.
So we decided to make our own delicous pancakes.

In the grocery store we found the most juicy, red, delicious looking strawberries I've ever seen!

Yummy!

Till next time. :)

Simple things

A few of the dates Michael and I have been on lately.

We went down to the border to pick up our ipod speakers and it came with bubble wrap!
A dance party obviously was in order.

Last week we went mini-golfing and I beat Mike by a whopping 1 point, oh yeah!

After that we went to Walmart and each had 5 dollars to spend on each other. I got him a dvd with 4 of the lamest movies ever made, and he got me a lamp shade.

Until next time.

Valentine's Day

This year was Mike and I's first Valentine's Day as a married couple. Whilst Mike was at school, I endeavered to make an awesome Valentine for him, (along with delicous cookie dough truffels which turned out amazing!). But alas, it turns out my five-year-old self could whoop my touchey at crafts. But he liked them! After school we made a delicious dinner together and then I had to go to work. After work we went to The Cheesecake Cafe. It was below -10 so we each got a free hot chocolate and then ordered the cheese cake banana split. It was unbelievably delicous!

When we got home I discovered in the fridge a special treat Mike had made for me from the left over chocolate. A chocolate moustache! How romantic, no? He also wrote me a wonderful prose and even pulled out my painting supplies to paint 12 little roses (a dozen roses) on the card. Mike, you're the best!

Happy Belated Valentine's Day Everyone!

Fanastic Mr. Mike

To be honest, I haven't seen Fantastic Mr Fox but I hear it's great from everyone who's seen it.

Anyway, this isn't about foxes, badgers, or Roald Dahl for that matter. In my new line of work I work some very strange hours. I get up and 4:30am and finish by 8:00am. I then return at 5:00pm and work until ~9:00pm.

Last night, I came home and Mike had prepared a delicious chili for me. To be honest, I don't realy like chili and wasn't initially that excited. But this was some good chili! He's such a good husband! Looks good eh? (I also came home to the dishes done, a vaccumed carpet and a tidy house. Best Husband Ever!)

This morning I went to work and we finished by 8:00am so I came home and slept until about noon! Whoops. Then Micheal and I went on a date he planned for us! It began at the Pizza Hut Lunch Buffet and so we ate our brains out. (He had a coupon...haha) Then we were going to go mini-golfing but apparently it's not open during the day, so we decided the next best thing would be to go to Value Village! We made a promise before going in not to buy anything...unless we really really wanted it. We made it out with only two things!
A picture frame and a chess set!
We were going to go to a movie but it didn't start for another hour so we decided to go grocery shopping. Couple grocery shopping is always fun! Then we went to the cheap theater in Lethbridge and saw the new Mission Impossible movie.  (We had a coupon for that too.) It was the first Mission Impossible movie I had seen and it was awesome!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Go on an awesome date. Mission accomplished!

Bicycles

When I was a little girl I rode my bicycle everywhere. I fell off my bike more time than I can count.
I did love riding my bike!
But then something happened, I'm not sure when, whether it was in Cardston or when I moved to the city, but I stopped riding my bike.
I guess we must have had a falling out, bikes and me.
But here in China we have no choice but to ride bikes everywhere.
So Mike and I swerve through traffic and cycle through the masses.
Our riding motto: We Ride for Justice.

Say Hello to the Dusk Warden...

...and the Pink Pucker!

Alright, that's enough of that...
